Stats: Aston Villa look to break opening day hoodoo with goals a certainty for Eddie Howe's Bournemouth

We bring you the best stats ahead of Bournemouth's debut Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Bournemouth will kick-off their debut Premier League campaign on Saturday when Eddie Howe's men play host to Tim Sherwood's Aston Villa.

The 2014/15 Championship winners enter the new season with nothing to lose, and will see this home encounter as an excellent opportunity to pick up the first three points of their first term in the top-flight; which makes for a potential upset if you're a Villa fan.

The two sides have not met in league competition since 1987/88 - when the Midlands outfit ran out 2-1 victors - though the visitors did beat Bournemouth on their path to the FA Cup final last season.
