The former Hornets boss woould have been pleased with Watford's 2-2 draw at Everton.
Watford certainly got their Premier League life off to a good start today. They drew 2-2 in a highly entertaining game at Goodison Park with Everton.
Twice Watford led the game and would have been thinking of making it a win from their opening game. Unfortunately, Ross Barkley and Arouna Kone scored great goals for Everton which denied them three points.
Of course the man managing Watford was not the man who got them promoted last season.
Slavisa Jokanovic did that job, but fell out with the board and departed this summer. Quique Sanchez Flores replaced him and so far looks to have done a good job with the players.
Prior to the game however Watford got a rousing Tweet from their former gaffer.
The Serb, who is now in charge at Israeli side Maccabi Tel-Aviv, sent this Tweet before kick-off on Merseyside:
It was two players Jokanovic got the best out of at Vicarage Road who netted the goals for The Hornets. Mexico international Miguel Layun got the ball rolling and then Odion Ighalo put John Stones on his backside for the second.
His legacy lives on and hopefully Watford can use that to stick around in the Premier League this season.
