The 49-year-old believes that the Rams’ signings in the summer transfer window will help them get automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
“I’ll go with Derby as my favourites because their recruitment has been sensational,” Beagrie told Sky Sports “They are full of out-and-out goalscorers.
"I’m not sure how they managed to get Andreas Weimann because clubs in the Premier League should have been in for him, he’s really talented.”
Derby County’s summer business
Derby have been very busy in the summer transfer window, with new head coach Paul Clement bringing in some superb players.
Defender Chris Baird, striker Darren Bent and centre-back Alex Pearce have arrived on free transfers, while goalkeeper Scott Carson, striker Andreas Weimann, attacker Thomas Ince and centre-back Jason Shackell have been signed from Wigan Athletic, Aston Villa, Hull City and Burnley respectively.
The Rams have a very strong squad, but they will face stiff competition for a top-two finish in the Championship this campaign.
Middlesbrough, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Queens Park Rangers and Burnley will all be looking to get automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
