The Leeds boss was delighted with the striker's impact off the bench.
A brand new season brought a brand new Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.
They were firing from all cylinders and almost grabbed all three points during their Championship opener - against a team in Burnley that were a Premier League outfit last campaign.
But some things never change - and Mirco Antenucci coming on to score Leeds' only goal is a familiar story.
Indeed, the Whites were a low-scoring Championship team last term and the Italian finished up as their top scorer. Uwe Rosler was full of praise after the 30-year-old came on to produce another 'fantastic' performance on Saturday afternoon.
Rosler hails the "fantastic" Mirco Antenucci: "I knew we had a chance to win the game when we brought him on." #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) August 8, 2015
Could summer signing Chris Wood have something to worry about...?
The Leeds striker has clearly been brought in to be the club's first-choice striker and has certainly started the season that way.
The 23-year-old didn't endure a terrible league debut for United exactly but his position will be under threat if Antenucci keeps producing. Not because of Wood's lack of quality - but because of the Italian's ability.
They say class is permanent but if Antenucci also has form in his favour, there will be plenty of competition to start up front for Leeds...
