The Red Devils kicked off their 2015-16 Premier League campaign with a narrow 1-0 win against Spurs at home.
England international defender Kyle Walker’s own goal midway through the first half proved to be the difference between the two sides at Old Trafford.
Former United defender Ferdinand was following the game, and he has highlighted some of the positives for Louis van Gaal’s side, including the three points.
3 points all important today for #MUFC positives: smalling defensively sound, 2 full backs good all round, romero dependable.— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) August 8, 2015
#MUFC performance didn't excite but got the job done...much room for improvement...90mins in the bank.— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) August 8, 2015
#Spurs score through Erikson early on & they probably go on to win. better team for most of 1st half. Both teams lacked that spark & pace.— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) August 8, 2015
Not the most attractive game today but 3 points was vital! #MUFCVTHFC— Andrew Cole (@vancole9) August 8, 2015
United’s performance against Tottenham at Old Trafford left much to be desired, but at the end of the day they got the three points.
The Red Devils will be challenging for the Premier League title this season, and the win against Spurs will come handy.
