David Gea saves against Sunderland

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Well-known sports presenter Richard Keys has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his take on Louis van Gaal’s comments about Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

According to ESPN, Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in signing De Gea this summer.

ESPN also quotes Van Gaal as saying that the Spain international will not feature for United against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in their opening Premier League game this afternoon.

"That is in process,” ESPN quotes the Dutchman as saying about the transfer saga. “I cannot lead this process.

"I can only watch and observe and that is what I am doing but I am not participating in the process."

Former Sky Sports presenter Keys has taken to Twitter to respond to Van Gaal’s comments.

Former Celtic man Adam Virgo has also given his take on the situation, stating on Twitter that Van Gaal should play De Gea against Tottenham despite the uncertainty over his future.

De Gea is a world-class goalkeeper and one of the best players in the current United squad.

Losing the 24-year-old would be a huge blow to the Red Devils, who are aiming for the Premier League title this season.
