Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is the Frenchman with the most goals scored in the top five European leagues over the past 10 years, Opta Stats studies show.
The talented striker has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, the Mirror reporting recently that a deal could be struck before the transfer window closes.
Benzema’s proposed move to the Emirates has been given the thumbs up by a number of Premier League observers, including club legend and French compatriot Thierry Henry.
"Arsenal would win the league," Henry explained to reporters for Sky Sports when asked about Benzema’s potential impact in North London.
The Real Madrid man is an exceptional striker with excellent link-up play, ball control, hold-up play and movement in and around the box. His goal scoring record, however, is vastly underrated.
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo claims all the plaudits for his phenomenal success in-front of goal, yet Benzema has an equally impressive record dating back over the past 10 years.

As per Opta Stats, he is France’s leading scorer over the past decade with 130 club goals in 294 appearances, 21 goals more than Swansea City’s Bafetimbi Gomis.
The Gunners possess a genuine goal threat from a number of outlets in the attacking third, yet bringing in Benzema would give them an entirely different threat altogether – an elite, top level marksman.
Acquiring him may prove difficult, or prompt the club to break their previous transfer record, yet he could ultimately prove the difference between winning the Premier League title and falling just short.
