The Venezuelan arrives from Zenit St Petersburg and Lescott will not be joining Aston Villa.
It looks like this morning has been a good one for West Bromwich Albion, as they look to have secured one new player and tied down another to a new deal.
According to Sky Sports the Baggies have completed a move for Salomon Rondon. They claim that the club have snapped him up for a club-record £15 million from Zenit St Petersburg. He passed a medical this morning and agreed personal terms. The deal will be announced next week.
The other news is regarding Joleon Lescott.
The veteran defender has been courted by Aston Villa in recent times. The Villans are keen on the player as they look to replace Ron Vlaar, who left on a free transfer this summer.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that the Baggies have fought off the competition from their local rivals and that Lescott is signing a new one-year extension at the club.
Rondon is likely to be presented to the fans then and a win would surely complete an excellent few days at The Hawthorns.
