The Gers kicked off their 2015-16 Scottish Championship campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win against St. Mirren at home.
Lee Wallace put the home team in front as early as the fourth minute when he fired a loose ball into the roof of the net and raced through unmarked to double his tally in the 26th minute.
Cameron Howieson exploited a gap in the Rangers defence to pull one back just two minutes later, but Steven Thompson squandered the chance to score an equaliser with a missed penalty.
Dean Shiels scored the third and final goal for Rangers late on at the Ibrox Stadium, as the Glasgow outfit won the contest 3-1.
Following the win, defender Tavernier and goalkeepers Kelly and Foderingham took to Twitter to revel in the success.
