The talented forward scored two goals v Wigan Athletic this afternoon.
The player in question is Adam Armstrong. The 18-year-old is a goal machine at youth level. He has 10 goals in 12 games for England under-17s and nine in nine for the England under-18s.
Considered one of the hottest talents to come through the Newcastle academy in recent years, he took Wigan Athletic, one of the League One title favourites, apart at the Ricoh Arena.
He scored both goals for his loan club Coventry City, with Wigan unable to handle the teenager.
Armstrong was also unlucky not to bag himself a hat-trick, hitting the post when he might have made it 3-0.
Coventry have Armstrong on loan until midway through January. The starlet, who has played 19 times for Newcastle in his short career and is yet to score, is already a hero at the club.
Coventry fans will be hoping he continues this form all the way through to the winter.
After scoring his first ever senior goals there was never any doubt what the reaction from Newcastle fans would be.
They were ecstatic.
Here is some of the best reaction to Armstrong’s performance…
