Manchester United's Italian full-back looks right at home at his new club.
Manchester United have made five summer signings to date and all of them played at some point during the club’s 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero all started while Bastian Schweinsteiger came off the bench in the second half, but despite the vast amount of money spent was to strengthen the midfield and attack it was the Italian right-back who looked the most impressive on his debut.
United fans who have watched Rafael over the years have known for some time that a consistent, quality right-back was required, and manager Louis van Gaal has now dealt with that by bringing the Italian international to Old Trafford.
Darmian played 150 matches for Torino before completing his £12.7million move and on this evidence United have bagged a bargain.

Against Tottenham, Darmian had a passing accuracy of 86 per cent while he looked solid and composed throughout, always eager to get forward but never to the detriment of his defensive duties.
The United right-back also won three tackles, four ball recoveries and four duels, while he made one key pass and was dispossessed just once all afternoon.
In short, he played a blinder and United fans were quick to applaud his effort. The trick now of course is to play like that week in, week out.
