Liverpool transfer news: Digne move tipped to complete Reds' squad; West Ham cool Borini interest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool will have to wait patiently for their first Premier League action of the season, with the Reds not kicking off against Stoke until 4:00pm on Sunday. But in the meantime their fans can focus on the continuing transfer speculation surrounding the club.

As reported by the Telegraph, Liverpool may complete their summer transfer business with a move for Paris Saint-German left-back Lucas Digne.

The 22-year-old would be a wonderful addition to Liverpool’s squad and solve arguably the last real problem in terms of their strongest starting XI, but the report claims that while Liverpool remain interested, Digne could end up at Roma who can offer Champions League football this season.

In other news, well-respected Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims West Ham United’s interest in Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has lessened following the Hammers’ Europa League elimination last week.

Borini’s time at Liverpool could well be coming to an end following the signings of Danny Ings and Christian Benteke, but the latest report suggests he will not be heading to Upton Park despite previous reports to the contrary.
