A select round-up of the latest news relating to Leeds United…
Leeds United kick off their new Championship campaign with a home match against Burnley this afternoon.
Uwe Rosler’s side impressed in their final pre-season friendly against Everton last weekend, but the trick now is to take that form into a domestic campaign that promises much if the Whites can get off to a good start.
In early team news, the BBC reports that Leeds are without midfielders Luke Murphy and Tommaso Bianchi, but that summer signings Stuart Dallas, Tom Adeyemi, Lee Erwin and Chris Wood could all be included in the match-day squad.
As for Burnley, they are without Fredrik Ulvestad and Ashley Barnes while new signing Matt Lowton is unlikely to feature.
In other news, Burnley’s Michael Duff has been speaking to the Burnley Express about starting the campaign against Leeds at Elland Road.
“It’s a great place to go and play football; it’s a proper football stadium,” Duff said. “There’ll be 30-odd thousand there.”
There certainly will, and if Leeds can get off to the start many are expecting it will be a fine start to a season in which manager Uwe Rosler will be hoping to steer them to a famous and long overdue promotion.
