French press: Brentford bid £4.25m for French under-21 international Sebastien Haller

FC Utrecht Europa League

The striker is currently playing in Holland for FC Utrecht.

Much of the focus recently has been on Brentford losing players, with Alex Pritchard returning to Tottenham, Jonathan Douglas joining Ipswich Town, Stuart Dallas heading to Leeds United and now Moses Odubajo completing a switch to Hull City.

However they have also made some good signings.

The likes of Danish international Andreas Bjelland, Josh McEachran and Lasse Vibe look like good signings to strengthen the side, who finished in the play-offs last term.

Now, they reportedly have another target all set to join.

Marinus Dijkhuizen is all set to have another player arrive from Dutch football in the form of Sebastien Haller, according to L’Equipe.

The player in question is a French under-21 international, contracted to Auxerre, but who spent last season with FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie – scoring 11 goals in 17 games.

The Bees have reportedly offered €6 million (£4.25 million) for the goal-getting striker.

The move would indicate that Brentford are preparing for the worst in regards to the future of their striker Andre Gray – who has been linked heavily with joining Odubajo at Hull City this summer.
