The Arsenal youngster is clearly excited to get his first taste of senior competitive action.
The 18-year-old is highly-rated at the Emirates Stadium and he will continue his development at the League One club having moved there until 3 January 2016.
Barnsley’s first match of the season is against Chesterfield this afternoon and the Arsenal teenager is clearly excited to get started.
Writing on social media on Saturday morning, the attacking midfielder said, “First ever professional league game for me; can’t wait, time to get the three points!”
Crowley may have only just turned 18 but he has already played 22 times for Arsenal’s under-21 side, scoring five goals and providing one assist in the process.
He has also shone for the Gunners in the UEFA Youth League, scoring five goals and setting up three more in just eight appearances at that level.
The England under-17 international has been training with Arsenal’s first-team for some time, but now he has the chance to show what he can do for a senior side week in, week out, and if he impresses, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may have a big decision to make further down the line.
