Jermain Defoe pulled one back for visiting Sunderland on the hour mark, but Marc Albrighton restored Leicester’s three-goal advantage just six minutes later before Steven Fletcher headed home his side’s second.
Sunderland’s performance against Leicester was hugely disappointing, but it was a source of amusement for Carroll.
The 26-year-old is a former Newcastle United player and was on the books of the club from 2005 to 2011, and the striker was clearly happy that the Magpies’ bitter rivals lost so badly today.

West Ham will kick off their 2015-16 Premier League campaign on Sunday, when they take on Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium.
The Hammers will be looking to pick up all three points against Arsene Wenger’s side, but it will be very tough.
