Arsenal attacker Serge Gnabry has expressed his delight at joining West Bromwich Albion on loan, explaining the move as a great opportunity to develop on the Baggies’ official website .
The Germany U21 international joined the Gunners from Stuttgart as a 16-year-old in 2011, spending the next few seasons progressing through the youth teams.
Now aged 20, Gnabry is ready for a bigger challenge and the heavy competition for places in North London means his best course of action is a productive loan switch.
West Brom confirmed on Friday afternoon that the young attacker will move to the Hawthorns on a season-long loan deal with Gnabry citing the move as a step in the right direction.
“I’m very delighted by the move. I see the opportunity that I can play, it’s a good club and I’ve heard good things. I’m very happy that I’ve signed here,” Gnabry explained.
“I’ve got good impressions and I feel it’s a good environment for to play and develop as a player.”
What can West Brom fans expect to see from Serge Gnabry?
The former Stuttgart prospect can play in a range of attacking positions but is arguably best wide right, using his ability to cut in and create with the player strong on either foot.
A natural sprinter from a young age, Gnabry has plenty of pace about him while will be ideal for Tony Pulis’s men as they set their side up to be compact and hit on the counter.
His lack of experience will likely see him benched at the beginning, but supporters can take comfort in the fact he is an exciting player and has the ability to make an impact when given the chance.
