Leeds get their Championship campaign off to a start this weekend against Burnley, and Rosler has told the official club website that playing a big team is a great way to start the season.
He said: “I like the fact that we are playing another top team. I feel that having a home game, with a full house and playing a team that has just come down from the Premier League, is a fantastic opportunity for us to test ourselves as a group of young, emerging players.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to work and test ourselves against opposition like that. I’m not just saying it, I really think that starting against a top team takes a little bit of pressure off us.”
This is certainly a promising approach to take to the game, especially considering it will prove to be a tough challenge.
Despite being relegated from the Premier League last season, and losing some incredibly important players, Burnley are still a strong side.
They are likely to be around the top of the division and in the search for promotion, and if Leeds can get a result against the Clarets, it will prove they can take on the best teams in the league.
Of course, gaining a result will be tricky, but Rosler believes the lack of pressure will ease the job Leeds have to face.
They are not expected to get a result, but if they can utilise all their strength, and a strong atmosphere at Elland Road, the Whites may just be able to get their campaign off to a great start.
