Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Baldini to leave in September

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Guardian has reported that Franco Baldini will leave the club at the end of the summer transfer window.

The Italian, who has been acting as sporting director, is thought to be under pressure as the signings made by the Gareth Bale money simply haven’t worked out.

Tottenham have already done some good work this summer releasing players from their squad to create extra space and to free up finances.

Tottenham youngster Dele Alli has been quoted by the Daily Mail, explaining what Luka Modric said to him in the recent friendly game against Real Madrid.

Alli produced a decent performance during the match, nutmegging the former Tottenham man at one point during the game.

Needless to say, the Croatian wasn’t particularly pleased with the up and coming youngster at White Hart Lane.

“I used to do that when I was young and get told off for it! He (Modric) was very good about it in the tunnel afterwards and we had a laugh about it,” he said.

The Metro has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sign midfielder Keisuke Honda from AC Milan.

The paper claims that the high profile Japanese star has asked to leave the Italian club, with Spurs one of the teams reportedly interested.

Whether Tottenham need another attacking midfielder is open to debate, with an arguably bigger need for another striker in the squad.
