Mauricio Pochettino has underlined his focus on youth in the club's squad number list, while making it clear that there is no way back for two senior players.

Tottenham have released their new squad numbers for the season today, ahead of tomorrow's Premier League opener against Manchester United, as confirmed by the club website.

The big news is that many of Tottenham's impressive homegrown performers from last year have received huge bumps up the roster at White Hart Lane, while a couple of the longer standing players at the club have lost their squad numbers all together.

Harry Kane takes Emmanuel Adebayor's old number of 10, with the forward nowhere to be seen, while Ryan Mason moves from 38 to 8, replacing Paulinho. Nabil Bentaleb has gone from 42 to 6.

When it comes to new signings, Toby Alderweireld gets Younes Kaboul's old number 4 shirt, Kevin Wimmer gets 27, and Kieran Trippier gets number 16, seemingly emphasising that of the three, only the Belgian is a shoe in for a first team spot.

Dele Alli is given number 20, the shirt he has been wearing in pre-season, while Alex Prtichard gets 24, Josh Onomah 25, Tom Carroll 28, Harry Winks 29, and Luke McGee 31.

Aaron Lennon is not named on the squad list at all, despite being a key player at Tottenham for much of the ten years he has been at the club.

Below are the numbers in full, as presented by the club:
