It appears Southampton are in good hands while Fraser Forster is out injured.
Indeed, the South Coast side are getting more out of Maarten Stekelenburg than Fulham ever appeared to, with the 32-year-old currently on loan at St Mary's from the west London side.
During Southampton's 2-0 win over Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday night, Stekelenburg once again impressed in the Europa League - as he has been doing all summer since making the move south.
And supporters were delighted with the on-loan Fulham goalkeeper's display on the night, while also praising his overall impact since arriving at St Mary's. As well as Maya Yoshida, many singled Stekelenburg out on Twitter for an astute performance against Vitesse.
Unlike West Ham United, the Saints made easy work of their Europa League qualifier, no doubt aided by Ronald Koeman's managerial experience (even while injured!).
Their shot stopper certainly contributed, though, especially as Southampton were able to keep two clean sheets in two. How important could the Fulham-owned 'keeper be for Koeman's men this season? Here's how supporters reacted to his display on Twitter...
Stekelenburg has looked so confident since joining #saintsfc, nothing like when he was at Fulham. Loves some banter with Dutch crowds too.— Rob (@YeOldeSaint) August 6, 2015
