The British tabloid claims that the newly-promoted Premier League outfit are willing to pay as much as £1 million for the services of the 18-year-old defender.

It has also been reported by The Sun that Barnsley will let the teenager leave this summer, as he will not sign a new contract.

Other interested clubs

Bournemouth are not the only Premier League club interested in signing the highly-rated Holgate from Barnsley this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa are keen on the youngster, while ESPN claims that Manchester United want him.

Last month, The Sun reported that Newcastle United want to recruit the youngster and have made contact with Barnsley

Good signing?

Holgate is predominately a right-back and made as many as 22 appearances for Barnsley last season.

It would be a huge step-up from Barnsley to the likes of Newcastle, United and Villa, but the teenager does have the potential to make it big.
