Leeds face a difficult opening game against Burnley, who will have a deep determination to get back into the Premier League at the first time of trying.
However, Parlour has implied that Leeds have a very good chance to get off to a good start, with their first game of the season at home, with the Elland Road crowd behind them.
“They need a little bit of money. Uwe Rosler has gone in there and like a lot of clubs, I think they need a good start to get that confidence into the side. Elland Road is always a great stadium to play at and they’ve got a cracking start,” he told talkSPORT.
Is a good start essential for Leeds?
Leeds need to get off to a good start because it will cement the belief from the fans, the players and the staff at the football club that Uwe Rosler is the right man to be taking the club forward.
Parlour’s comment that Leeds need a bit of cash applies to any club in the Championship, because of the imminent new TV deal for the Premier League, which will pump cash into the sides in the top flight from next year onwards.
There’s no reason Leeds can’t be one of the teams pushing to go up by the end of the season, but it’s something which will depend on the consistency of the side, the new signings have a big impact quickly and luck in terms of the team avoiding injuries.
