Rudy Gestede was pictured in Aston Villa training for the first time on Friday morning, ahead of the Premier League side's season opener against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
With things looking no clearer as to whether Villa will sign another new striker, the additions of Gestede and Jordan Ayew should prove crucial for the Midlands side as Tim Sherwood looks to survive without the goals of Christian Benteke.
And the 26-year-old, who joined from Championship side Blackburn Rovers in a £6 million move, as reported by the Daily Mail, will likely have a big part to play in the season ahead for Aston Villa.
Gestede won more aerial duels than any second-tier player last campaign, just as Benteke won the most in the Premier League - and more of the same will no doubt be welcomed by Sherwood.
Here he was in training ahead of the Bournemouth clash, while goalkeeper Brad Guzan was also shown in practice. Will Aston Villa get their campaign off to a strong start against the newly promoted Cherries this weekend? And can the 26-year-old striker get the goals at Villa Park in the coming months?
