Mark Hughes comments on Adama Traore interest

Mark Hughes Press Conference Disappointed 12/02/2014

Premier League duo Stoke City and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Adama Traore from Barcelona B this summer.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has told the club’s official Twitter page that he is interested in signing Adama Traore from Barcelona this summer.

Hughes has revealed that he has held discussions with the 19-year-old winger over a move to the Britannia Stadium.

Blow for Aston Villa?

Hughes’s comments will come as a blow to Aston Villa, who are also reportedly interested in signing Traore this summer.

According to a report in The Daily Mail earlier this week, the Villans want to sign the highly-rated youngster.

Good signing for Stoke City?

Traore is part of the Barcelona B squad at the moment and is a player for the future rather than for the present.

There is no doubt that the Spaniard is talented and is a bright young prospect, but one should not expect him to turn on the style in the Premier League rightaway.

If Stoke (or Villa) recruit Traore this summer, then they will have to be patient with him and give him time to settle in.
