With plenty of Spurs speculation over the last few days, however, it comes as a shock that Everton have shot into the lead, with odds of 4/6 to bring Austin on board.
Newcastle sit behind the Toffees at 3/1 to sign the QPR forward. But Tottenham and West Ham have seen their odds drift. The north London side were the previous favourites and are now down to 4/1, while the Hammers are at a distant 7/1, as per Sky Bet.

Austin may well play for QPR in the Championship this weekend, as the R's take on Charlton Athletic. The surge in betting on Everton, though, is definitely a new twist in the striker saga.
But betting had been suspended on Austin joining Newcastle earlier this summer, meaning there may well be a new favourite once again in the coming days.
