Aston Villa and West Ham United were reportedly interested in signing former Leicester City midfielder Esteban Cambiasso this summer.
“It is true that there are advanced talks with Olympiakos,” The Sun quotes Carlos Cambiasso as saying.
According to The Sun, the 34-year-old rejected a new contract from Leicester at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Good move for Esteban Cambiasso?
Cambiasso was a key player for Leicester last season, helping them stave off relegation to the Championship.
The former Inter Milan star scored five goals and created 36 chances in 31 Premier League appearances during the 2014-15 campaign.
The Argentine had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 32%, and won 36 headers, 14 dribbles and 43 tackles.
It will sound strange to some that Cambiasso is leaving the Premier League for Superleague Greece, but Olympiakos won the league last season and will feature in the Champions League this campaign.
