Tottenham wonderkid - and it's fair to call him a wonderkid after his impressive pre-season - Dele Alli admits Luka Modric called him a rude word after the teenager nutmegged the Real Madrid star during their friendly earlier this week, according to the Daily Mail.
It was all light hearted, of course, but the former Tottenham playmaker couldn't hide his annoyance after being bested by the wily 19-year-old as Real Madrid beat the north London side 2-0.
Alli has made a real impression over the last few months, stunning the Football League during his time at MK Dons and now showing his skill off to a global audience against Real Madrid.
Indeed, Alli is quoted as saying by the Mail: "I used to do that when I was young and get told off for it! He (Modric) was very good about it in the tunnel afterwards and we had a laugh about it. He shook my hand and said to me "You little b****r" – or something like that!'
The Spurs youngster is certainly in with a chance of starting for the north London side against Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and his strong pre-season showing raises a real question mark about any potential loan move away from White Hart Lane.
Such has been Alli's form, Mauricio Pochettino may well need let alone simply want the 19-year-old to stay with the Premier League side's first team this season. Modric can certainly attest to his burgeoning quality.
