Christian Benteke on what Eden Hazard told him after Liverpool move

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has backed Christian Benteke’s move from Aston Villa to Liverpool.

Christian Benteke has revealed to The Daily Star what Chelsea winger Eden Hazard told him after his move to Liverpool earlier this summer.

The Belgium international striker moved to the Reds from Premier League rivals Aston Villa last month.

Benteke has revealed the text message he received from his Belgium international teammate after joining the Merseyside outfit.

“I have been in contact with Eden on text message,” Benteke told The Daily Star. “He is happy for me. He said now I have a chance to win and to beat him.

Good move for Christian Benteke?

Leaving Villa for Liverpool has certainly given Benteke the chance to win trophies and raise his game.

The 24-year-old striker will be playing with better players and at a club with bigger ambitions than Villa.

There will be some concerns whether the former Genk star will fit in Liverpool’s style, but one suspects that manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken to him already about that.

Liverpool’s main objective this season will be to finish in the top four of the Premier League, and Benteke will play a key role in that.

Last season, the Belgian scored 13 goals and created 33 chances in 29 Premier League games, and had a pass accuracy of 67% and a shot accuracy of 45%.
