The former Newcastle midfielder is in line to make his Crystal Palace debut this weekend.
Speaking to the official Crystal Palace website, Alan Pardew has confirmed that Yohan Cabaye will play for the Eagles this weekend, as they get their Premier League campaign off to a start against Norwich City.
Pardew said: “You're not going to get more of a top player than Yohan Cabaye. Yohan Cabaye could play for any of the top four sides, trust me he can. So can he play here? For sure. Will he play on Saturday? Yes. And is he an important signing for us? Yes, it was a fantastic boost to get him.”
These words will certainly excite Palace fans ahead of the start of the Premier League tomorrow.
Pardew has brought in a selection of interesting signings, with his former Newcastle employee Cabaye the highlight of the lot.
He was undoubtedly the best midfielder in the Premier League before he left Newcastle in January 2014, and he vastly improves Palace’s midfield.
Alongside Cabaye, the Eagles have brought in a wealth of attacking reinforcements. Although they have stayed away from changing their defence - which could prove to be an issue in the later stages of this career - the likes of Bakary Sako, Patrick Bamford and Connor Wickham all bring different traits to the club.
It is not known who will line up for the club tomorrow as they travel to Carrow Road to take on newly promoted Norwich City, but Cabaye will certainly be making his long awaited debut for the Eagles.
