Leeds United are planning on pushing for promotion next season, rather than this one.
He said: “If we can set a foundation this season to push up in the next season then we won’t be too far off where we need to be. But don’t forget we have a young team with players who have played only one season. For them it’s harder to play the second season. The second season is the harder one because now people have expectation.”
These may be disappointing words for Leeds fans to hear, with many wanting to see the Whites push for promotion this season.
However, winning promotion this season seems too far off to achieve, but that is probably for the best.
It is hard to see how the club would survive in the Premier League if promoted with their current squad, and another year of building in the second tier will actually aid them in the long run.
Their young players will have an extra year of experience behind them, and as a squad, the chemistry will be far improved due to having played together for a season.
Rosler has admitted that this year is for building a foundation to work upon in the future, and he believes that - with the the 2015/16 season behind them - Leeds ‘won’t be too far off’ winning promotion back to the Premier League.
