A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel told the Daily Express that he can’t see goalkeeper Hugo Lloris leaving this summer.

The paper mentions speculation which has suggested that Lloris could end up at Manchester United.

The American feels that there’s no chance of that developing into anything serious, backing the Frenchman to stay and excel where he is.

“Hugo is a Tottenham player, he is the Tottenham captain and he will be a Tottenham player and I don't see that changing,” he said.

The Daily Mirror has reported that striker Roberto Soldado has been handed a lifeline to try and revitalise his Spurs career.

The paper mentions several Spanish clubs with a reported interest in the striker, as he looked likely to leave earlier in the summer.

However, manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that the player is still in his plans ahead of the new season.

“Soldado is in my plans but he did not come here because there was a problem with his back - but he is in our plans,” he said.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Tottenham are considering a move to sign QPR forward Charlie Austin.

The paper claims that Spurs are keen on a move for Austin as they look to improve their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.

The paper also claims that a fee in the region of £15 million will be needed to make any deal happen.
