Rodney Marsh reacts on Twitter to West Ham exit... with heavy praise

Upton Park

The former forward believes Slaven Bilic has made a great decision.

Rodney Marsh's immediate reaction to West Ham's Europa League exit saw him blaming the east London club for showing 'total disdain and disrespect' to the competition.

And then he heaped praise on the Hammers for doing just that.

Indeed, West Ham United's early-season elimination from the Europa League can now see them concentrate fully on the Premier League - something Marsh values highly.

According to the pundit, top-flight survival is the priority for the east London club - which could be aiming a little low.

But the bottom line for Marsh is that boss Slaven Bilic made a 'great decision' by resting his first team for their second leg clash at Astra Giurgiu.

Many may well agree with Marsh and West Ham may now fare much better in the Premier League as a result.

However, that doesn't change the fact Bilic played the first team in the first leg and the Hammers still couldn't produce the goods.

The manner of the exit, then, is certainly worth forgetting. Perhaps the Croat can do what Ronny Deila did at Celtic and turn his first season around despite failing to qualify for Europe.
