Bradford to snap up ex-Manchester City defender Greg Leigh

HITC Sport understands the promising full-back is to link up with the Bantams as a free agent.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Bradford City are set to sign former Manchester City trainee Greg Leigh.

The 20-year-old full-back is available as a free agent after being released by the Premier League heavyweights at the end of last season.

Leigh left the Etihad Stadium without making a competitive senior appearance for City, but he has caught the eye in the Football League.

The youngster spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan at Crewe Alexandra, helping them to avoid relegation out of League One.

He will be back in the third tier for the forthcoming campaign as he prepares to link up with the Bantams.

Leigh will put pen to paper with Bradford having done enough during a pre-season trial to convince manager Phil Parkinson of his worth and will be hoping to make an instant impact as the club prepares for a trip to Swindon Town on Saturday.
