Blackburn finished frustratingly off the play-off pace last season, but do our writers feel they can make progress this year?
Gary Bowyer has consolidated well at Blackburn and brought a degree of stability to the club, but the pressure will be on his this season to produce some forward momentum.
Starting the season without Rudy Gestede is a blow and very few new faces have arrived so far, which raises doubts about what can be achieved.
Freddie Shires: If Blackburn had kept both Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes until the end of the summer transfer window then they should have certainly been able to secure at least another top half finish.
Damien Lucas: After threatening to mount a challenge in recent seasons Blackburn find themselves in the mix with Jordan Rhodes emerging as the top scorer in the division but fall short in the play-offs.
Mathew Nash: The transfer embargo is having a serious impact on Blackburn’s plans for the new season.
Che Thomas: Rovers have lost a couple of players already this summer, Gary Bowyer will have some rebuilding to do.
Stephen Pickering: Gary Boywer has had to fend off a number of admirers for his players this summer without having the money to strengthen his own side. Tom Cairney could prove to be a big loss. Top six looks unlikely. Key player: Jordan Rhodes.
Lewis Doe: Last season it was a strike force to behold, but they have lost a key asset in Gestede.
Billy Hawkins: Once again close to the play-offs, but a lack of depth will cost them success.
Our writers were asked to predict the outcome of next season's Championship campaign. We accumulated their rankings (24 points for first place, 1 for 24th, etc), and created a predicted 2015-16 league table.
