The second half of last season was much more encouraging than the first, but can Gary Rowett continue to take Birmingham forward?
Birmingham City won just two of their first 13 games last season, but under Gary Rowett they looked a much more potent force and broke away from the relegation trapdoor.
This time around fans will hope for something a little more positive from City, but whether they have the talent to kick on for anything more than mid-table security is debatable.
Freddie Shires: Keeping Demarai Gray and the rest of last season’s core contributors will give Birmingham every chance to improve upon their 2014-15 campaign.
Damien Lucas: Another season of struggle at St Andrews but Birmingham have just about enough quality to get through and remain in the Championship for another year.
Mathew Nash: Gary Rowett has The Blues settled but a comfortable season is surely the best they can hope for.
Che Thomas: Though Gary Rowett did reasonably well after taking over at St Andrew’s I still see Birmingham as weaker than a lot of the division, including the three sides that have been promoted.
Tim Poole: Gary Rowett should be able to utilise his tactical nous enough for a top-half finish.
Billy Hawkins: Much rests on Gary Rowett, who can get his players performing far above their ability levels.
Our writers were asked to predict the outcome of next season's Championship campaign. We accumulated their rankings (24 points for first place, 1 for 24th, etc), and created a predicted 2015-16 league table.
