The Crystal Palace winger took to social media on Thursday afternoon.

Crystal Palace signing Bakary Sako has taken to Twitter to thank fans of his former club Wolves.

And the 27-year-old, who joined Crystal Palace on a free transfer, has even thanked those who criticised him after he was reported to be in talks with West Brom.

Indeed, Sako had been linked to the Baggies for quite some time and was widely said to be in talks with the Midlands club, with the Birmingham Mail among several outlets to carry the story.

Such was the widespread nature of the reports, it's difficult to believe Sako wasn't at any point in contact with West Brom.

But the winger is now delighted to have completed a move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, thereby ensuring he remains on good terms with the Wolverhampton Wanderers faithful, who are West Brom's bitter rivals.

Many Wolves fans responded affectionately to Sako's post and some even apologised for doubting him. Now time for the 27-year-old to do his talking on the pitch and prove himself in the Premier League - perhaps showing West Brom what they missed out on in the process.
