A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino told the club’s website that he’s looking for two improvements based on the performance against Real Madrid.

Spurs lost the friendly game 2-0 against the Spanish giants as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Pochettino has focused on two areas of the performance where he feels his side could have performed a little more effectively.

“We need to be more consistent and in the last 20 metres we need to score, we need to be more aggressive, but we are in a good way,” he said.

The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham youngster Dele Alli is knocking on the door of a position in the first team for the start of the Premier League season.

Alli featured during the defeat to Real Madrid yesterday and has had a positive pre-season at the White Hart Lane club.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has some big calls to make ahead of the opening Premier League game of the season against Manchester United.

Teddy Sheringham has been quoted by 888 claiming Tottenham striker Harry Kane won’t be a one season wonder.

One of the big questions hanging over Spurs for the forthcoming season is whether Kane has enough to build on his position as top scorer from the last campaign.

The problem is that Kane will be a marked man in the Premier League for every game he starts up front.

“When you have the qualities Harry has I’d thoroughly expect him to do exactly what he did last year. I don’t think he’s a flash in the pan,” he said.
