Mbodj has been one of the most in demand transfer targets this summer, but it finally looks as if he is set to complete a transfer away from Genk.
Wanted by a host of teams in the UK, Mbodj was a target for the likes of West Ham, Newcastle and Everton - as per the Mail - Leicester City - as per HLN - and scottish Championship Celtic, also according to the Mail.
The allures of the Premier League were said to interest him, and Mbodj looks to have all the talent to impress in British football. A powerful defensive midfielder, able to also play at centre-back, he has impressed for Genk over the past few years, earning international recognition with Senegal.
He is also still only 25-years-old, with plenty of years ahead of him to keep developing, but it appears as if he is to continue his development in Belgium for now.
According to TMW, Mobdj is set to sign for Jupiler Pro League giants Anderlecht, as they make up for the loss of Chancel Mbemba to Newcastle. Terms are said to have been agreed between the midfielder and his new club, and a deal should be finalised in the coming days.
Although all the British clubs have missed out on the signing of a talented player this summer, if he continues to play at his impressive level, it would come as no surprise to see Mbodj remain a transfer target for many clubs over the coming years.
