Sunderland are willing to loan out Duncan Watmore this season.

As reported by the Shields Gazette, Sunderland are willing to loan out promising striker Watmore this season - with two Football League clubs interested.

Oldham and Scunthorpe, both in League One, have shown an interest in signing the 21-year-old forward, following the Black Cats’ wish to make sure Watmore continues developing with consistent first-team football.

He was named Under-21 Premier League Player of the Season last year, but has yet to make his top flight debut for the Wearside club, despite Dick Advocaat utilising him in first-team training last season.

It is clear the England youth international is a favourite of Advocaat, and he has been involved in pre-season this summer, but it looks as if he will not be adding to his three FA Cup appearances by turning out in the league for Sunderland yet.

A loan deal seems most likely for Watmore now, with two interested teams, and Sunderland looking to send him away from the club, and if he can impress in the Football League, the youngster may not be too far away from finally turning out in the Premier League with the Wearside outfit.
