Report: Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor in hunt for former West Ham striker Carlton Cole

The Roberto Carlos managed side recently acquired Hugo Rodallega from Fulham.

West Ham United hero Carlton Cole is once again looking for a new team this summer after he finally departed The Hammers on a free transfer this summer.

Cole left West Ham on a free transfer in 2013, but re-joined the club just a few weeks later. In the end he spent nine years with the club after arriving from Chelsea in 2006.

This time, despite the striker shortage at West Ham, Cole looks likely to find himself a new club away from the Boleyn Ground – with a surprise option cropping up.

It is being reported in Turkey that Cole could head out to the Super Lig this season.

Ambitious outfit Akhisar Belediyespor are said to be keeping tabs on Cole, according to Turkish source Sabah.

This is the same club that recently brought in Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega from Fulham and are currently managed by Roberto Carlos. They also have a recognisable name in former Portsmouth and Newcastle striker Lomana LuaLua up front.

If Cole was to make a move to Turkey it would certainly surprise many. However, after nine years at West Ham and an entire career in the UK perhaps Cole will decide to head abroad at this point in his career.
