Tottenham and Sporting CP are in talks to sign Vadillo from Real Betis.
He is contracted at the La Liga club until next summer, and the report states that Betis are considering selling him, so as to ensure they receive a fee for him, rather than losing Vadillo for free at the end of the season.
It is claimed that Tottenham have ‘advanced with an offer’ to Betis to sign the winger, whilst Sporting are also in talks with the player, and it is believed that the Portuguese club’s financial offer is ‘more attractive’ to both Betis and Vadillo.
Who is Alvaro Vadillo?
Vadillo, 20, has spent all his career with Real Betis, playing 54 times for the first-team. He is far from the finished product, but his seven assists and one goal have shown an attacking strength, and at his young age, he still has years ahead to develop.
Considering the low price Vadillo is likely to cost, it is no surprise that Spurs and Sporting are showing an interest. He is a real prospect for the future, and Betis are willing to sell him with just one year left on his contract.
There are doubts about his development path, as he missed much of last season due to an injury. A problem with his cruciate ligament kept him out for nearly all the campaign, making just seven appearances in the Segunda Division, but he is likely young enough to overcome those issues and develop into the top player many believe he can become.
