Tottenham have been handed a boost in the race to sign Clinton N'Jie from Lyon.
The North London club have been tracking him for a number of weeks now, but it appeared as if they were far away from completing a deal due to the financial demands Lyon were requesting.
However, Lyon look to be altering their wants, and the new report has outlined the asking price set on N'Jie’s head.
They are looking for roughly £8 million, plus a player exchange deal with Federico Fazio heading in the other direction. The French outfit are looking to plug some gaps in their defence, and they see Fazio as the perfect option, considering Spurs have already planned to raid their ranks.
Would an N'Jie and Fazio swap be worth it for Spurs?
Considering N'Jie is a player Spurs want to sign, and Fazio is a player they want to get rid of, swapping the duo seems like a no brainer.
It will save them money on a transfer fee, as the Lilywhites will not have to splash as large a pay packet on signing N'Jie, whilst strengthening a weak position in their squad and reducing the excess centre-backs they have.
On paper, Lyon’s latest demands look to suit Spurs, and they should really be opening talks with the French outfit if they truly intend to sign N'Jie before the transfer window closes.
