The striker left Leeds United earlier this week but what did fans of the club make of the news?
Leeds United have been busy in the transfer market this summer and Tuesday was no exception, with Stuart Dallas arriving at Elland Road and Steve Morison waving goodbye.
The 31-year-old made 26 appearances for Leeds last season but he only managed to score two goals, both of which came in consecutive matches in April.
With fellow forwards Chris Wood and Lee Erwin arriving this summer Morison’s place in the Leeds side was always in question and now he has moved on, signing an initial one-year contract with League One side Millwall.
Morison played regularly under former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn despite the fact the club had a number of other strikers whose records were considerably better than the big man’s.
That said, it was Morison who was finding the net in pre-season and for a time it looked as though he could remain and fight for a starting spot under new boss Uwe Rosler.
Instead he has moved on and after the news broke we took to Twitter to see what Leeds fans thought, with a selection of what we found posted below:
Waking up to the news that Steve Morison has left Leeds makes me want to cry! Cheers 'the shift' #lufc— Kayden (@k_duncanash) August 5, 2015
I didnt really care about Steve Morison, didn't really make much of an impact at leeds. We've brought in better players than Morison. #lufc— Josh (Revive Zins) (@ReviveZins) August 4, 2015
Now then, Neil Warnock, would you agree that Steve Morison became the Leeds legend you envisaged back in 2013? #lufc— Jamie Collins (@LUJC83) August 4, 2015
aaaand his name is Steve Morison, we will never forget his deeds, he was born to play for Millwall, and now he's stolen a living at Leeds!— Ed Lufc (@ed_lufc) August 4, 2015
