The Hellas Verona midfielder is reportedly wanted by many clubs this summer.

Everton have reportedly made contact with Italian side Hellas Verona regarding the potential transfer of their Greek star Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.

The report comes from a local source in Italy. TG Gialloblu are claiming that Verona are open to selling the Greek star at the right price and have already knocked back an ‘inadequate’ transfer bid from fellow Serie A side Atalanta.

Genoa remain keen but Everton’s interest is also apparent, along with a return to his former side PAOK Salonika.

Christodoulopoulos is a 28-year-old midfielder who can essentially play across the entire midfield but is best known for being a winger.

He started his career at PAOK before joining Panathinaikos in 2008. He moved to Italy in 2013 with Bologna before joining Verona last summer.

He played just 24 games for the club last campaign but that has seemingly not put Everton off the idea of bringing him in.

Christodoulopoulos has featured for the Greek national team on 25 occasions in his career and has scored once, against Lithuania, in June 2013. He was a part of the Greek national side for the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

Everton may need more attacking midfield options with Gerard Deulofeu injured and Kevin Mirallas’s future still in considerable doubt.
