Celtic midfielder Scott Brown to continue snubbing admiring glances from England

HITC Sport understands the Hoops skipper has no desire to move on despite attracting interest from the Premier League.

Celtic captain Scott Brown is set to reject offers to move to England as he wants to remain with the Scottish giants, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Newly promoted Norwich City are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have looked into doing a deal for the 30-year-old star this summer.

The likes of Everton, Sunderland and Leicester City have also kept a close eye on the situation – but a deal will not be happening.

HITC Sport understands there is no desire on either Celtic or Brown’s part to seek a parting of the ways.

A source close to the situation told HITC Sport: “Scott Brown won’t be leaving Celtic, and Celtic do not want to lose him.

“Every player does have a price, but that only matters if the player is willing to leave and Brown isn’t – he is already a Celtic legend but he wants to enhance that further.”

Brown has played over 300 games for Celtic since joining from Hibernian in 2007, and has been their captain since 2010.

He also penned a new contract with the Scottish Premiership champions in November 2014 that ties him to the club until the summer of 2018 – as covered by the Telegraph – so there is no need for either party to pay any attention to interest from afar.
