BBC pundits snub Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool and Tottenham are not fancied to finish in the Premier League top four.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham face bleak prospects of breaking into the top four this coming season, according to The BBC.

The broadcaster asked 28 pundits and commentators for their predictions for the 2015/16 season, with similar results.

- Not a single one predicted Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four.

- Just one pundit expects Liverpool to land a Champions League spot.

This was former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin, who expects them to finish fourth ahead of Manchester City.

Even former Reds defender Mark Lawrenson expects them to be outsiders, with Manchester United in fourth.

Chelsea were the popular tip to win the title, with 20 pundits calling Mourinho's side to triumph, with four tipping Arsenal and two each for the Manchester clubs.

Tottenham finished in fifth last year and Liverpool sixth, but of the two it is Brendan Rodgers' side who have made the biggest investment this summer, although they did sell Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.

Both sides face tricky away games to start the season, with the Reds travelling to Stoke where they lost 6-1 last season, and Spurs revisiting Old Trafford, scene of a 3-0 loss in 2014/15.
