Adam Hammill set to leave Huddersfield as Championship rivals circle

Huddersfield Town Crest

HITC Sport understands that a man linked with Preston North End of late is ready to leave the John Smith's Stadium.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal that Adam Hammill is set to leave Huddersfield Town.

The 27-year-old winger has been with the Terriers since the summer of 2013, having earned a permanent move on the back of a productive loan spell.

He has struggled to put down roots since making a name for himself at Barnsley, with switches to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield failing to deliver the desired level of game time.

His career with the Terriers started positively enough, as he was a virtual ever-present in 2013/14, but last season saw him slip out of favour and eventually on loan to Rotherham United.

No return will be made there, but HITC Sport understands that Hammill has offers to consider from Championship clubs.

Preston North End have been linked with an approach of late, as reported by the Huddersfield Examiner, as they ready themselves for life back in the second tier.

Wherever he ends up, Hammill is ready to open a new chapter in his career and will want to do so quickly with the 2015/16 campaign nearly upon us.
