The former midfielder is expecting another strong season from the Potters, with a potential cup triumph thrown in.
The Potters have been busy this summer, with seven new faces having arrived at the Britannia already and a month still to go in the transfer window.
Two of those signings have been former Barcelona youngsters Ibrahim Affelay and Moha El Ouriachi, who have joined other former Barca stars Marc Barta and Bojan at the club.
And while a number of other clubs in the division have also been busy, Savage believes that it is Mark Hughes’ side who have done the best business.
“I would say Stoke have done great business,” he said on BreatheSport.
“They’ve got Bojan to come back, they’ve got Affelay, they’ve got another Barcelona player El Ouriachi and they’ve got Van Ginkel.”
A cup victory could be on the cards
The former midfielder has also praised his former manager Mark Hughes for the work he has done at the club since taking over.
The former Blackburn boss replaced Tony Pulis at the club two seasons ago and has led them to two ninth placed finishes, while he has also completely changed their style of play from the long-ball football they were well known for previously.
And Savage believes they could finish even higher next season, while a trophy could also be on the cards for them.
“I think Mark Hughes, to finish ninth twice with Stoke, has done a brilliant job,” he added.
“I think Stoke could win the league below the top six, I think they could finish seventh and win a trophy this year. It’s a very tough place to go. I think Stoke could have a real good season.”
