The Romanian played with the winger for CFR Cluj prior to Sougou's Marseille move.
When Sheffield Wednesday signed Romanian striker Sergiu Bus from Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia in January it looked a shrewd piece of business. He has been scoring goals for fun in Bulgaria and had earned a move to England.
However, he suffered an injury that kept his action limited and will be hoping to star next term. He will also have some help from an old friend, if his Instagram is to be believed.
Bus posted this picture with former Marseille winger Modou Sougou, who was released by the French club earlier today.
The pair are former team-mates at CFR Cluj in Romania and Bus was clearly excited about the arrival of his old pal.
He has however clearly had a telling off from the club, as the picture was swiftly deleted.
Not before it was screen-grabbed all over Twitter.
Prior to his Romanian switch wide man Sougou played his career in Portugal. He joined Uniao Leira when he was 19-years-old and went on to play for the likes of Vitoria Setubal and Academica – which is probably where Carlos Carvalhal has got the contacts to sign him.
His move to Marseille has been a disaster. He has spent most of his time with the club out on loan at Evian Thonon – where he played 25 times last season scoring two goals.
He will be hoping to thrive once his imminent move to Hillsborough is finally confirmed.
